Sticks and Stones Camp (6/21/2016)

Day One (6 - 8 year old camp):

Today was another great day to start mountain biking with the 6 - 8 year old campers.  We completed the typical bike safety check and set up our beginning drills to get comfortable with maintaining a straight line/curved line and taking on obstacles (roots, rocks, and logs) that we would face out on the trails.

The weather was great and we kept ourselves cool by brushing up against the morning dew/rain drops that were left on the leaves, and unfortunately, the occasional briar.  We rode along a trail that followed a scenic route in between a forest and creek, so nature was always within a glance. However, that did raise a comedic concern from one of the riders.  They said, "What do we do if we see Bigfoot? Should we blow our whistle"...We of course said that it was probably a good idea to give their whistle a tweet if they saw any sign of Sasquatch.

All in all, we rode close to five miles, and Bob and I were quite impressed with how well the bikers did along the mixture of single track and gravel roads.  They all did a fantastic job and below are a few photos and a video to enjoy!

See everyone on Thursday!
